Here at HVNCVR, there is a closet that has clothing for all genders. All items are donated and are new or gently used.

The Closet is open to all Veterans

All Items are Free

The Closet is open to the General Public every Monday 9AM-5PM

The public is invited to come in and take what they'd like or need for a donation. As we wish to help anyone in need, we do not set a donation price. Someone might have a need but not have the means to make a monetary donation. If you have the means, you're welcome to pay if forward. All of the money brought in from The Closet goes into our programing and assists local Veterans, Active Military Members, and their Families.

How it Started

Approximately 18 months ago, USAR Veteran and Vet2Vet of Ulster County Peer Specialist, Annette Mistretta, asked if there was a need for used clothing. At that time, she was shown a closet four feet wide; it contained clothing for men, sleeping bags, and backpacks piled high. These items were available to Veterans in need, especially homeless Veterans. At that time, Annette's WWII Veteran Father has passed away, and she wanted to pass along his never used and slightly used clothing to other Veterans.

That concept blossomed and expanded to the current 15x30 foot closet. With that expansion, there are also some household items available.

With the assistance of our wonderful Volunteer, Dolores Banks, Annette is able to maintain The Closet.
