History

In 2020, Kevin Keaveny, Mathew Russell, and Garrison Benz paddled 22-Miles a day down the Hudson River from September 5th to September 30th in wooden kayaks they built themselves in HVNCVR’s Kayak Program.

Last year, 7 Combat Veterans from 4 States kayaked, in wooden kayaks handmade from HVNCVR’s Kayak Program, for five days and four nights, from Kingston, NY to Montgomery, NY.

This year, Kevin is kayaking again down the Hudson for 6 days and 5 nights .

Mission

Every day in the U.S., at least 18 Veterans take their own lives, and at any given time 49,000 Veterans are homeless. Our mission is to address the national tragedy these statistics represent.
